Policy Conditions of this chapter
- Import of rough diamond from Cote d'lvoire shall be 'Prohibited' in compliance to Paragraph 6 of UN Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1643(2005).
- Import of rough diamond (ITC HS Codes 710210, 710221, or 710231) from Venezuela shall be 'Prohibited' in view of voluntary separation of Venezuela from the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) No Kimberley Process Certification shall be accepted/endorsed/issued for rough diamonds from Venezuela.
- No import of rough diamonds shall be permitted unless accompanied by Kimberley Process (KP) Certificate as specified by Gem & Jewellery EPC (GJEPC).
- Public Notice No. 54 (PN)/97-02 dated 4th Novemebr, 1997. Attention is invited to Public Notice No. 51(PN)/92-97 dated 27th October 1997, on the above subject. In partial modification of the above Public Notice, it is hereby notified that the Import of gold and silver shall be permitted to the nominated and authorised agencies by the Reserve Bank of India(RBI) Ministry of Finance

- Gold, silver, platinum and other precious metals in any form, including plain and studded jewellery
- Duty free import of gold and gold findings, mountings or solders, platinum and silver for the manufacturing of jewellery export
- Gold, Silver import through authorised agencies by R.B.I
- Silver Import as Baggage
- Gold and Silver Coin Import
- Exemption to goods as specified in the Annexure- I and Annexure- II to this Notification upto 1% of the FOB
- Gold, Silver and Platinum imported under various schemes mentioned in Chapter 8 of Exim Policy
- Exemption from customs duties leviable on various items of Chapter 71 of CTA imported under a Replenishment Licence.
- Gold/ Silver/ Platinum jewellery imported under “Export Against Supply by Foreign Buyer".
