BHUBANESWAR: The state government has moved the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to construct a flyover on NH-5 near Bhuasuni temple to provide better connectivity to the proposed Infocity-II near Khurda. "Considering possible rush of traffic near the Info Valley after completion of the project, we have approached the NHAI for the flyover. The government would spend Rs 80 crore on it," IT secretary Madhusudan Padhi told TOI.
Though there is progress in terms of construction of roads near Infocity-II, installation of power infrastructure has been quite slow. IT minister Pratap Keshari Deb, who reviewed the project, said, "A 220/33 KV substation is yet to be installed. Infosys, which is our anchor tenant, is not getting proper power supply for its construction activities. I have asked the energy department to set up the substation at the earliest," Deb said.
"Cesu has been asked to conduct survey in the Info Valley for installation of internal electricity lines," said the minister, adding the "The Info Valley project would be commissioned by October 2014."
Official sources said two lanes of the four lane road to Info Valley have been completed. "The remaining two lanes from Jatni junction to Info Valley would be completed by November 2013. Construction of nearly 12 km-long-boundary wall has been completed," said an officer of Idco (Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha).
The Info Valley project would spread over 600 acre in Jatni tehsil. The IT department said it has acquired nearly 400 acre.
Out of the 600 acre demarcated, 320 were earmarked for IT
SEZ and remaining for development of an integrated township. IT major Infosys was allotted around 45 acre in the Info Valley for its second campus, which is almost ready.
