Odisha to give Tata SEZ 1,235 acres |
BHUBANESHWAR: The Odisha government is expected to register 500 hectares, or 1235 acres of land in favour of Tata Steel (Gopalpur) SEZ on Friday. "We hope the Centre to notify this SEZ by November and will then intensify our search for investors,'" said Arun Misra, V-P, Gopalpur project.
Earlier in June this year, the Odisha government had approved a new Special Economic Zone (SEZ) policy which would allow developers to sub-let land to other industries. Odisha, which ranked seventh in the World bank's ease of doing business list, recently announced new IPR policy. It introduced private industrial parks. Misra sees an opportunity in converting the remaining of the total 2500 acres to private industrial park.
