‘POWER THE FUTURE’, is the focal theme of the third edition of GIREM, Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment and Management, the flagship Urban Development and Real Estate Conference to be held in Goa from September 23 to 25, 2010.
Key strategists, urban planners, industry experts, and top bureaucrats are converging at Goa to brainstorm on how to deal with the myriad issues that confront urban planning. About 400 delegates from across the globe will be attending the third Summit of GIREM.
“With the percentile growth of population in rural and urban areas during the decade (2001-2011) estimated at 17.9 and 31.2 per cent respectively, urban India is faced with gargantuan issues – pressure on housing and industrial requirements; civic infrastructure such as water supply, sewerage, drainage etc. These pressing issues need immediate and long-term sustainable solutions and all the stake-holders understand that they cannot be discussed and dealt in silos, hence GIREM. It is an initiative to bring different key players together in the pursuit of planned and sustainable urban development,” said Mr. Shyam Sundar S. Pani, President – GIREM & ED Triple Tree.
