Subject: Bridges to roads, Noida to get several infra projects next week.
NOIDA: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath  will inaugurate several projects and lay foundation stones for a few others during his visit to the district on January 25.

Final touches are being given to the second bridge on Yamuna  river at Kalindi Kunj by installing vertical gardens even as commuters expect easy connectivity between Delhi and Noida once the bridge is opened for public. “The CM will inaugurate the bridge along with flagging off the Aqua Line,” said Alok Tandon, CEO, Noida Authority.

Meanwhile, after a delay of over six years, work will begin on the 5.5 km six-lane elevated road over Shahdara drain on the Delhi-Noida stretch which will come up from Chilla regulator area in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 to Mahamaya flyover on Noida expressway along the Shahdara drain. The CM will lay the foundation stone for the work on the same day.

The elevated road will start from the end of Mayur Vihar flyover in Delhi and pass through Noida via sectors 14, 14A, 15, I5A, 16, 18 and finally connect to Noida-Greater Noida expressway before Mahamaya flyover. The Rs 650 crore project, which is expected to be completed in three-and-a-half years, will be executed by UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd, said officials.

Similarly, in a bid to decongest traffic and facilitate motorists travelling towards Barola in Sector 49 area, Salarpur and Bhangel up to Noida Special Economic Zone (N-SEZ), Noida Authority will construct a 5.5 km elevated road to ease traffic between Sector 41 and 82 up to SEZ . “While the project cost is Rs 460 crore, it will be completed in three years’ time,” said Rajeev Tyagi, general manager (projects), Noida Authority.

In Greater Noida  too, preparations are being made ahead of the visit of the chief minister.

The VM will lay the foundation stone for an electronic manufacturing cluster in Sector Ecotech VI on January 25. The cluster will manufacture nearly two lakh mobiles per day, making Greater Noida a pioneering electronic hub in NCR. The GNIDA has allotted 100 acre land to TEGNA Electronics Pvt Ltd for the project.

“We had held meetings and allotted 100-acre land. They will develop the machinery for mobile manufacturing, research and development. They have plans for Rs 3,500 crore investment in the project. This will directly produce 25,000 employment,” said Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, Greater Noida Authority. The cluster will be functional in 18 months.

Meanwhile, the work on some GNIDA projects and others have expedited. According to sources, all these projects will be completed in one or two months, though inauguration dates have not been finalised. These projects include a rail overbridge in Dadri, Jewar airport’s foundation, Ganga jal project and Institute of Archaeology in Greater Noida.

The four-lane rail overbridge is a significant project in Dadri crossing. The North Central Railway is constructing the bridge which is an important link between Dadri and Noida. The 12-metre-wide overbridge is 120 metres long. Started in 2014, local residents said the bridge will immensely help people cross over the railway line. At present, the commuters have to stop for several minutes at the Dadri road when trains arrive. The project is likely to be completed in two months.

The Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute  of Archaeology under Union ministry of culture in Greater Noida, is also nearing completion. The project has come up at a cost of Rs 300 crore. The institute will be an academic wing of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It will facilitate academic research through its Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology programme.

The GNIDA is also pushing the Gangajal project towards completion. The 210 MLD (million litre per day) water treatment plant at Palla village in Greater Noida will be ready soon. The total project cost is Rs 124.81 crore, while the operational cost for five years is Rs 21.62 crore.
