Another MRO may come up in Mihan-SEZ |
NAGPUR: Indmar, one of the oldest aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) depot operators in the country, has shown interest in starting a unit in Mihan-SEZ. It will, however, be on a much smaller scale as compared to the Boeing MRO facility as Indmar plans to acquire around 3 acres of land in the SEZ. Indmar has been predominantly conducting maintenance of private jets, said a source in MADC. A team from the company had visited the site and talks with it are underway.
A senior official in MADC said that negotiations have been on since quite some time, and nothing can be commented at this stage. It is hoped that one major MRO facility being built by Boenig can attract other players.
Though even earlier MADC had allotted land to other MRO operators like Max Aerospace and Duke's Aviation, the two projects could not take off. Boeing, which is building the MRO for Air India, is expected to hand it over to the latter in due course of time.
