US business corner in Vadodara |
VADODARA: US Consulate will set up an American Business Corner (ABC) at the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Vfor import of machinery easing business in Central Gujarat region.
VCCI's office-bearers had a meeting with the officials from US Commercial Service, a part of the US Consulate General, Mumbai, during which the proposal was discussed.
"It was agreed in principle that ABC will be set up in Vadodara for the benefit of importers and for increasing ease of doing business," said VCCI's president Nilesh Shukla, who met commercial officer at US Consulate General Geoffrey Parish, US commercial service, Chennai, Malarvizhi Parimelazhagan and commercial specialist and office director at Ahmedabad Sangeeta Taneja on Monday.
ABC is the office plan of US Consulate to widen the US commercial service without their physical presence.
It is envisaged that ABC will serve as a means for an Indian importer to learn about services and programs and will make connecting with American businesses easy.
"This facility is not just limited to VCCI members but also for all the federations, bodies, chambers and industries of Central Gujarat," Shukla said, adding that the corner will facilitate information sharing on technology transfer, IT, electronic equipments and security aspects among others.
"We have also sought support for innovative products developed here from venture capitalists in US for their growth," he said, adding that a draft agreement will be soon prepared for setting up the corner in the city.
