Subject: How small sellers are likely to benefit from super app Tata Neu’s launch
The newly launched Tata Neu, the “super app” from Tata Digital, is expected to benefit a host of small sellers supplying to the several brands housed within the app.

Elaborating on this, Pratik Pal, CEO, Tata Digital, said small retailers can expect more gains. “Some of the companies like BigBasket or Croma already have large B2B businesses. Small sellers and retailers are already supplying to these brands. As our footprint increases and growth takes place, small sellers selling to large brands will also benefit in the same way,” he said during a recent conference held in Mumbai on April 14.

The super app from the group boasts of a combination of product commerce, service commerce and financial services rolled into a consumer-first integrated experience. Billed as a one-stop destination for all consumer needs, it also has a suite of financial offerings on offer, including UPI, bill payments, loans and insurance.

Speaking on the quantum of app downloads so far, Pal said they were pleasantly surprised by the number of people shopping on the app. “Till date, we have had 2.2 million downloads and a significant number of transactions are happening. The numbers speak for themselves. People are booking hotels, buying groceries, electronics and looking at various other categories. It is a very good sign that they are doing multi-category shopping across brands. There is also a road map in place for onboarding n ..

The app also offers a simplified rewards programme called NeuPass. Members earn 5% NeuCoins or more every time they shop, dine or travel via Tata Neu. NeuPass members will have access to free deliveries, exclusive offers, built-in credit line, early access to product launches and brand-specific privileges.

Talking about how the super app would offer value proposition to the Indian consumers, N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, said the aim was to simplify people’s life. “India has a huge consumer base that is increasing every year. They are highly aspirational. Our purpose at Tata Digital is to be a trusted partner for the Indian consumers to have a better life. We believe today there is no solution that fully addresses this holistically, and is especially developed keeping an Indian context  ..

Tata Neu is currently home to several brands, including AirAsia India, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Qmin, Starbucks, Tata 1mg, Tata CLiQ, Tata Play and Westside. Consumer brands ranging from electronics, fashion, travel, hospitality, groceries, pharmacy and financial services are currently a part of the super app. More brands are likely to be added to the app.
