Rupee opens lower for fifth day |
Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Thursday marginally recovered to 53 against the dollar after falling to 53.17 in opening trade. The Indian currency opened lower for the fifth consecutive day at 53.0825 a dollar.
On Wednesday, the partially convertible rupee had closed at 53.0588 after touching an intra-day low 53.1850. At 10.13am, the local currency was trading at 53.11, down 0.1%.
A recent survey of currency dealers by Mint had shown rupee to trade around 50 a dollar by the end of December.
