Rupee opens lower at 63.70 per dollar |
The Indian rupee has opened lower at 63.70 per dollar on Tuesday against previous day's closing value of 63.66 a dollar.
Ashutosh Raina of HDFC Bank said, "The somewhat stable situation in Greece and chances of a Fed rate hike sent dollar soaring with Gold hitting a 5-year low."
He further added, "The USD-INR currency pair continues to trade in 63.30-63.80/dollar range with all gains getting capped by intervention."
The dollar reached its highest in three months against a basket of currencies on a rise in US bond yields as traders built bets the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates later this year.
