Rupee opens higher in early trade |
Mumbai: The Indian rupee opened higher at 54.83 a dollar on Tuesday against its Monday’s close of 54.87. At 9.10am, the home currency was trading at 54.76, up 0.20% while India’s benchmark index, Sensex is trading at 18943.62 points, up 0.35%.
A foreign bank dealer said 54.70 should be a good level to go long and that the dollar-rupee pair will likely be in the 54.68-54.90 band during the session.
Local stocks opened with gains and were up 0.65%.
Most Asian currencies were trading stronger on Tuesday compared with the dollar.
