Rupee opens higher at 62.16 per dollar |
Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Monday opened higher tracking Asian currencies.
It opened at 62.16 a dollar against its Friday’s close of 62.29. South Korean won was up 0.31%, Philippines peso spot up 0.16%, Malaysian ringgit Spot was up 0.12%.
At 9.10am, the local unit was trading at 62.10, up 0.30% from previous close. India’s benchmark index, Sensex is trading at 20,429.16 points, up 0.26%.
The yield on India’s 10-year benchmark bond was trading at 8.7%, compared with its Friday’s close of 8.737%.
The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 80.699, up 0.01% from the previous close of 80.691.
