Rupee marginally up against dollar in early trade |
Indian rupee slightly gained against the greenback in morning trade on Monday. Rupee was up by 0.02 paise or 0.03% against USD to Rs 53.69 compared to previous close of 53.70 (09.22 a.m.).
''USDINR is likely to extend its recent declines towards 53.50 followed by 53.20 levels in near term as price has settled well below 200-Day EMA of 54.14 for the first time since October 29. Rupee is likely to be strong today as gains in equity markets and expectations for rate cut by RBI can support the rupee,'' said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.08% to 79.96 (22:42 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.33 down 0.02% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 89.57 down 0.59% (22:51 ET).
