Rupee marginally down against dollar in early trade |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was marginally down by 3 paise or 0.05% against USD to Rs 54.92 compared to previous close of 54.89 (09.22 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.04% to 81.04 (22:40 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.27 up 0.06% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 81.15 down 0.04% (22:52 ET).
''USDINR trend remains mixed for the day and is expected to trade in sideways between 54.50 - 54.85 levels. A decisive break and close over 55.10 only can attract more buying interest,'' said Emkay Global Financial Services.
At 09.23 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 52.16 points or 0.28% at 18,523.53 with 20 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 7.55 points or 0.13% at 5,638.55 with 26 components gaining.
