Rupee inches higher tracking equity gains |
Mumbai: The Indian rupee opened higher on Monday against the dollar tracking gains in the local equity market.
The partially convertible rupee opened at 55.45 per dollar on Monday against Friday’s close of 55.52. On Friday, the currency had ended 0.55% lower from its previous close.
At 9.18am, the domestic currency was trading at 55.48, up 0.1%, while India’s benchmark Sensex was trading at 18,544.76 points, up 0.21%.
