Rupee gains 9 paise against US dollar to 54.4 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Tuesday. Rupee was up by 9 paise or 0.17% against USD to Rs 54.40 compared to previous close of 54.50 (09.26 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.01% to 79.48 (22:45 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.33 down 0.15% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 89.07 down 0.46% (22:56 ET).
At 09.26 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 31.77 points or 0.16% at 19,938.18 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 6.55 points or 0.11% at 6,030.60 with 29 components gaining.
