Rupee gains 8 paise against US dollar to 53.05 |
Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Wednesday. Rupee was up by 8 paise or 0.15% against USD to Rs 53.05 compared to previous close of 53.13 (09.27 a.m.).
''USDINR could bounce from current levels to 53.38 levels, where 9-Day EMA falls. A break and close above this can make a way towards 53.95 levels. Any intraday declines can't be ruled out towards 53.00 levels. The rupee appears to continue to consolidate within a range as along with foreign funds flow global sentiments and falling domestic shares will also impact the currency,'' said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.09% to 79.55 (22:49 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.35 down 0.02% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 93.77 up 0.15% (22:524ET).
At 09.29 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 50.58 points or 0.26% at 19,710.40 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 14.65 points or 0.25% at 5,971.55 with 33 components gaining.
