Rupee Gains 16 Paise Against US Dollar to 52.82 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Friday. Rupee was marginally higher by 0.16 paise or 0.30% against USD to Rs 52.82 compared to previous close of 52.98 (9.19 a.m.).
At 9.21., the Sensex was trading down 56.16 points or 0.35% at 15,826.48 with 25 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 20.80 points or 0.44% at 4,728.85 with 44 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.03% to 80.89. It touched a high of 80.91 and a low of 80.94 after opening at 80.86. (22:49 ET)
Euro - USD was trading at 1.27 up 0.0418% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 77.17 up 0.0814%. (22:42 ET).
