Rupee gains 12 paise against US dollar to 55.52 |

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Wednesday. Rupee was up by 12 paise or 0.22% against USD to Rs 55.52 (09.25 a.m.).
At 09.25 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 68.25 points or 0.39% at 17,550.10 with 24 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 17.55 points or 0.33% at 5,327.80 with 37 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.07% to 83.33 (23:39 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.22 up 0.03% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 79.33 down 0.13% (23:54 ET).
