Rupee falls 5 paise against US dollar in early trade |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was down by 5 paise or 0.09% against USD at Rs 54.22 compared to previous close of 54.17 (09.41 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.05% to 81.85 (00:01 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.31 up 0.06% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 98.78 down 0.23% (00:10 ET).
At 09.52 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 13.99 points or 0.07% at 19,976.19 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 3.85 points or 0.06% at 6,065.45 with 36 components falling.
