Rupee falls 33 paise against US dollar to 54.18 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Monday. Rupee was down by 33 paise or 0.62% against USD to Rs 54.18 compared to previous close of 53.84 (09.24 a.m.).
At 09.28 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 12.56 points or 0.07% at 18,768.01 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 4.45 points or 0.08% at 5,702.15 with 29 components gaining.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.04% to 80.62 (22:46 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.28 down 0.07% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 80.51 up 0.10% (22:53 ET).
