Rupee Falls 29 Paise Against US Dollar to 52.78 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was lower by 0.29 paise or 0.56% against USD to Rs 52.78 compared to previous close of 52.48 (9.14 a.m.).
At 9.22 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 137.81 points or 0.88% at 15,547.40 with 24 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 39.20 points or 0.84% at 4,653.95 with 38 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.01% to 80.00 (22:45 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.0157% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 78.05 down 0.0090% (22:46 ET).
