Rupee falls 21 paise against US dollar to 49.74 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Monday. Rupee was down by 0.21 paise or 0.44% against USD to Rs 49.74 (9.22 a.m.).
At 09.23 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 163.15 points or 0.93% at 17,473.84 with 28 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 47.80 points or 0.89% at 5,311.60 with 45 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.07% to 79.46 (22:52 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.31 down 0.05% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 81.69 down 0.15% (22:51 ET).
