Rupee falls 15 paise against US dollar to 54.57 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Thursday. Rupee was down by 15 paise or 0.29% against USD to Rs 54.57 compared to previous close of 54.41 (09.22 a.m.).
At 09.22 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 118.40 points or 0.63% at 18,784.01 with 27 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 40.55 points or 0.70% at 5,719.55 with 46 components falling.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.06% to 80.80 (22:40 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.27 down 0.12% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 79.82 down 0.21% (22:44 ET).
