Rupee falls 11 paise against US dollar to 54.87 |

Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Tuesday. Rupee was down by 11 paise or 0.19% against USD to Rs 54.87 compared to previous close of 54.76 (09.22 a.m.).
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.01% to 79.87 (22:42 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 up 0.06% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.10 down 0.18% (22:49 ET).
"We expect Indian rupee to be sidelined showing some strength later in the day over optimism on the policy reforms," said Emkay Global Financial Services.
At 09.22 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 12.07 points or 0.06% at 19,317.39 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 4.80 points or 0.08% at 5,866.15 with 25 components falling.
