Rupee falls 10 paise against US dollar to 55.17 |
Indian rupee declined against the greenback in morning trade on Monday. Rupee was down by 10 paise or 0.18% against USD to Rs 55.17 compared to previous close of 55 (09.21 a.m.).
"USDINR is expected to retest the key support levels of 54.76, where middle line of bollinger band falls and could regain its positive momentum towards 55.20 levels," said Emkay Global Financial Services.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.01% to 79.60 (22:41 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.31 down 0.05% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 84.35 up 0.13% (22:48 ET).
At 09.23 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 71.11 points or 0.37% at 19,313.11 with 24 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 20.65 points or 0.35% at 5,868.35 with 40 components gaining.
