Rupee down 12 paise in early trade |

MUMBAI: The rupee on Wednesday fell by 12 paise to 59.78 against the dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on increased demand for the US currency from importers.
A firm opening in the domestic equity market and easing dollar against other currencies in overseas markets, however, capped the fall, forex dealers said.
The rupee had closed two paise higher at 59.66 on Tuesday on some strength in local equities and dollar selling by exporters.
