Indian rupee slips further, opens at 61.46/dollar |
The Indian rupee fell further in early trade Friday. The currency opened at 61.46 a dollar, down 12 paise compared to previous day's closing value of 61.34 a dollar. It had lost 41 paise on Thursday following weakness in equity markets.
Pramit Brahmbhatt, Veracity expects the rupee to depreciate as US equities ended in the red. "Negative sentiment in the US markets will force local equities to open weak. Asian markets have already opened on a weak note," he adds.
He expects the rupee range between 60.80-61.80/USD.
