Indian rupee opens higher at 62.21 per dollar |
The Indian rupee gained in the early trade on Friday. It has opened higher by 13 paise at 62.21 per dollar versus 62.34 Wednesday.
According to Karvy, dollar index bounced back on Thursday as a bigger than forecast decrease fall in the jobless claims, reinforcing speculation that the US economic growth is outpacing global peers. Euro continued to trade in a range and remained in a tight range as no new news emerged from the Greek uncertainty and currently trading at 1.1365.
Pramit Brahmbhatt of Veracity said, "Reduction in FII inflows coupled with weakness in local equities may pressurize rupee to depreciate. However, gains in Asian equities and some exporter selling may limit losses. We see the range for the rupee between 61.90-62.80/dollar."
