Indian rupee opens flat at 60.03 per dollar |
The Indian rupee opened flat at 60.03 per dollar versus 60.08 Friday.
The dollar struggled to get off a one-month low against a basket of major currencies, having posted its biggest weekly fall in over two months after a batch of disappointing US data dampened the allure of the greenback.
NS Venkatesh of IDBI Bank said that, "Rupee is expected to trade in a narrow range supported mainly by custodial flows coming into India, but at the same time there is a balancing effect which happens due to oil companies buying dollars."
"Expected range for the USD-INR seen between 59.95-60.25/dollar," he added.
