Indian Rupee opens flat at 54.28 per dollar |
The Indian rupee opened flat at 54.28 per dollar versus 54.28 Thursday.
The euro rose to 1.28 to the dollar. Meanwhile, the dollar index slipped below the 83 mark. And the yen was at 1-month high versus the dollar.
Agam Gupta, Standard Chartered Bank said, "The rupee is expected to be weak around 54.40/USD due to disappointing current account deficit numbers.
As we step into the next fiscal, an increase in dollar demand could also weigh on sentiment. The range for the day is seen between 54.25-54.55/USD."
