Indian rupee marginally weak in opening trade |
The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 54.24 per dollar versus Monday's cloase 54.14.
The euro was steady above 1.30 to the dollar. The dollar index was at 82.70 mark, meanwhile the yen firms versus the dollar.
Jayesh Mehta, Bank of America said, "In the absence of any major triggers, the rupee is expected to trade weaker in a narrow range due rise of global gold and oil prices for the second day.
Also continued dollar demand from the OMCs is expected to keep the rupee weak. The range for the rupee is seen between 54.20- 54.50/USD."
