Indian rupee falls by 7 paise at 67.42 against US dollar in early trade |
Indian rupee again opened weak by falling 7 paise to trade at 67.42 against US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on Tuesday following American currency’s performance against other emerging market currencies amid demand by banks and importers. The Indian currency had closed 27 paise down at 67.35 against the dollar on Monday.
At 9.31 am, rupee was trading 2 paise down at 67.37 against the US dollar.
Dollar strengthened against other emerging market currencies ahead of US Fed and Bank of Japan meetings slated for this week.
Domestic stock markets flat opening also affected rupee’s sentiments. At 9.41 am, Sensex was trading 7.05 points down at 28,088.29, while NSE Nifty was trading 3.95 points down at 8,631.70.
