Forex reserves up by $61 m |
Foreign exchange reserves were up by $61 million to $280.089 billion for the week ending April 16. The reserves have risen for the third consecutive week. For the week ended April 9, foreign exchange reserves rose $932 million to $280.028 billion. According to figures released in the RBI's weekly statistical supplement, in the week ended April 16, foreign currency assets rose by $28 million to $255.691 billion. Foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms include the effect of appreciation or depreciation of non-US currencies. Gold reserves were unchanged at $17.986 billion. SDRs increased by $26 million at $5.026 billion. The reserve position in the IMF rose $7 million to $1.386 billion.
