India. Oilmeal exports down by 21 per cent in April-June 2013 |
The total oilmeals exports from India between April - June 2013 is down by 21% to 850,951 tonnes from 1,074,034 tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year.The export of oilmeals during June 2013 is reported at 348,946 tonnes compared to 311,089 tons in June 2012 - up by 12%.
During April-June export of soybean meal has been drastically reduced to 409,507 tonnes from 637,407 tonnes, while rapeseed meal has maintained pace. Castor meal shipment has increased during May and June 2013.
South Korea and Iran have emerged as highest importers of oilmeals from India. Oilmeal import by South Korea from India during April-June 2013 is reported at 304,745 tonnes compared to 282,833 tons last year consisting of 125,583 tons of rapeseed meal and 179,162 tonnes of castor meal. Iran imported of 260,734 tonnes compared to 301,154 tonnes, consisting 260,658 tonnes of soybean meal, and small quantity of rapeseed meal.
Thailand imported 55,810 tonnes compared to 84,159 tonnes, consisting 10,079 tonnes of soybean meal, and 45,731 tonnes of rapeseed meal. Vietnam imported of 31,421 tons compared to 119,593 tons last year consisting of 5,524 tons of rapeseed meal, 797 tonnes of castor meal and entire quantity of 25,100 tonnes of rice bran extraction. Indoensia imported 24,788 tonnes compared to 67,895 tonnes of last year consisting of 20,122 tons of rapeseed meal and 4,666 tons of soybean meal. Europe and others have imported 109,062 tonnes compared to 29,704 tons of last year. Overall export of oilmeals to all regions have fallen.
