Subject: Haryana CM seeks suggestions from industry exports at state export awards

GURUGRAM: Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal today urged the entrepreneurs and exporters to train the unemployed youth as per their requirements and employ them.

The state government would provide infrastructure for the same and would also give certificates of the training to such youth.

The Chief Minister was speaking at the State level Export Awards Distribution Function at Udyog Vihar, Gurugram today.

The Chief Minister gave away awards to 111 export units for their outstanding performance. Twenty one of the awards were bagged by the units of Gurugram.

Instead of delivering the traditional address, the Chief Minister interacted with the entrepreneurs and asked them if the benefits of Policy changes were reaching to them or not.

He said that the government is ready to make further changes for improving the policy. He also sought their suggestions to further improve the policy. The exporters and entrepreneurs expressed their views without any hesitation.

The Chief Minister said that initially when he held the reins of the administration in the state he was termed as an inexperienced. Khattar admitted that as it was for the first time that he had become the Chief Minister, he was inexperienced.

Khattar said that he learnt a lot in first 12 months, but it was not new for him how to serve the masses. He said that during the last two years Haryana has jumped from 14th to 5th place in 'Ease of Doing Business' and has got 97 per cent marks in this regard.

He said that he was not yet satisfied as he wanted to take the state further. While referring to the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit held in Gurugram in March last, 549 MOUs were signed and these involved an investment of about Rs. 7 lakh crore, said Manohar Lal Khattar

To make the youth employable, emphasis has been laid on skill development. He said that Vishavkarma Skill Development University would be setup at Badhok in district Palwal. Its classes have already been started temporarily in Faridabad.

He urged the entrepreneurs to suggest the kind of courses to be started at this university. He said that for postgraduate unemployed youth, a new scheme has been introduced to give Rs. 9000 to such youth for working 100 hours. As many as 3500 youth have so far registered themselves under this scheme.

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Vipul Goel said that no export unit has been awarded during last 10 years. The present government has not only again started these awards but has also tripled the award money.
