Subject: INDIA IS A ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY : RAJNATH SINGH
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said India is a one of the fastest growing economy and hoped to attain super economy status by 2022 while speaking in a function while inaugurating several railway projects for Lucknow of worth Rs 4000 crore at Northern Railway Stadium here on Sunday.

“We are among top ten countries of the world on GDP count. We soon will be among the five top countries on this count and our GDP will be in double digit which presently is about 7.5 per cent,” he said.

He said a project of worth Rs 1910 crore for redevelopment of Gomti Nagar Terminus and a project of Rs 1800 crore for redevelopment of Charbagh railway station (Northern Railway), both in Lucknow had been inaugurated. “The Charbagh railway station will have a second entry point towards Cantonment area. The Alamnagar railway station will now be a satellite station, a sky walk (foot over bridge) at Durgapuri metro station and some other works has been approved and will work will starts in a couple of days,” the union minister said.

He said the work at Kukrail Bridge, Faizabad road, will start in 2-3 days. “The work was in limbo for last 8-9 years .Now every hindrance had been removed after a talk with the defense department and UP government,” he said while invoking BJP stalwart leader Atal Bihari Bajpai whom he said was one of the most popular leaders from the Lucknow. “I dedicate all these railway projects to Atal Bihari Bajpai,’ he said and the announcement rented the air with zindabad in the name of Singh at the program venue.

He praised Yogi Adityanath led government saying the UP government had achieved great success in its one year time since it stormed to power and congratulated Yogi for the achieving the success milestone.

Striking a chord with the BJP members who were also present in the function, Singh said there may be critics about the works done by the union government but no one can raise finger on out honesty and our resolve. “Never ever in above four year span of central government, there were any charges of corruption labeled on us,’ he said.

Coal and Railway Minister Piyush Goel spoke about setting a target of manufacturing 1400 LSB coaches from Rae Bareilly’s Modern Coach Factory while obliquely criticizing the rival Congress for not doing anything in the past. “The factory was set up in 2007 but no work was done. In year 2011-12 the then government purchased coaches from Chennai and Kapoorthala coach factories and claimed to have manufactured the same from the factory after refurbishing them,’ Goel said. He informed that the factory manufactured 700 coaches this financial year only.

Goel announced that the union government is going to recruit 1 lakh youths (90,000 for railways and 95,00 in Railway Protection Force) while adding that the women candidates will have 50 per cent share in the vacancies for the RPF. The union minister said a Coach Refurbishment factory will be set up in Bundelkhan while a Loco Shed is on the anvil in Gorakhpur.

While expressing gratitude to BJP leader Atal Bihari for mentoring so huge number of BJP leaders, Goel said several politicians came in national political mainstream from UP and Lucknow also had a great contribution on this front. “This way, Lucknow should have some privilege and Uttar Pradesh should figure in much more space of the railway map of our country,” he said.

He said the UP had a budget share of Rs about 1100 crore per year before the BJP led union government. “In the financial year 2018-19, the union government gave a share of about 7,865 crore per year, just seven times more that it got in during the regime of Congress government,” while naming the Congress party directly. Goel said the trains will be equipped with CCTV cameras for the safety of passengers while passenger amenities were being improved at different railway stations. “The satellite railway stations will also be equipped with wi-fi facility and measures were being taken to modernize the rail safety systems. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work at the railways and called upon the railways' officers to complete the given task within the stipulated time.

Both the leaders were honored by the railway officials and railway employees associations. The program was attended by a number of ministers in UP government including Brijesh Pathak, Swati Singh, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Mahendra Singh and Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatiya.
