The sixteenth SAARC Summit will begin in Bhutan on Wednesday. Heads of
State and Government of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan,
Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka will attend the meeting.
Representatives from the observer states including China, Iran,
Japan, South Korea, Mauritius, Myanmar, Australia, United States, and
European Union will also be present.
The Summit will adopt a Declaration titled Towards a Green and Happy
South Asia, which will focus on problems relating to environment and
climate change.
