Update on Import of Cheaper Steel into India |
Mr A Sai Prathap minister of state in the ministry of steel said that instances of import of steel, at prices lower than the market price in source countries came under the purview of ‘Anti-Dumping’ investigation, which are investigated by the Directorate General of Anti Dumping and Allied Duties under the Department of Commerce. Based on the petition filed by some of the domestic stainless steel producers, DGAD&AD has issued initiation notice for Anti-Dumping investigation of:-
1. Imports of Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Flat Products of 400 series having width below 600mm originating in or exported from European Union, Korea RP and USA
2. Imports of Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Flat Products of 200 series having width below 600mm originating in or exported from China PR, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and USA
3. Imports of Hot Rolled Flat Products of Stainless Steel originating in or exported from European Union, Korea RP, South Africa, Taiwan and USA.
