KOLKATA, Jan. 27: India's plastics export may fall short of the target during the current financial year, while there will be no growth in domestic consumption of plastics, Plastindia Federation said here today.
"We may fall short by $0.1-0.2 billion of the $4.3 billion export target set for the current fiscal. As regards domestic consumption, we are not expecting any growth as plastic consumption in a few sectors like automobile and electronic goods has been hit by the prevailing slowdown", Mr Arvind Mehta, president, Plastindia Federation said.
He was speaking to reporters to promote an exhibition ~ Plastindia-2009 ~ to be held in New Delhi between 4 and 9 February.
