Par Panel to Examine Agri Export Schemes |
New Delhi, (PTI) A parliamentary panel will examine functioning of different government schemes for promotion of agriculture and food products, an official said today.
"The department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce, headed by Shanta Kumar,(BJP MP) has taken up the subject of ''export promotion schemes'', pertaining to agricultural and processed food products, for examination," he said.
The committee will hold wider consultations with different stakeholders and experts in the field.
Exporters of agricultural products get incentives like duty credit of three per cent of the value of goods shipped under the ''Vishesh Krishi and Gram Udyog Yojana''.
India''s agricultural and allied product exports amounted to USD 12.62 billion in 2009-2010.
