According to statistics, Australia, Brazil, India, South Africa and Ukraine become the main iron ore exporter to China. In June China imported 49.94 million tons from these five countries accounting for 90% of the nation's total iron ore import volume.
In June, China imported 23.72 million tonnes of iron ore from Australia up by 52.73%YoY. Its iron ore imported from Australia added up to some 120 million tonnes during the H1 up by 43%YoY from the import volume during the same period last year.
In June, China imported 12.21 million tonnes of iron ore from Brazil, up by 55%YoY. Iron ore imported from Brazil amounted to some 60.83 million tonnes from January to June up by 20%YoY.
In the same time, India exported 8.29 million tonnes of iron ore to China up by 5.48%YoY. The total volume for iron ore imported from India reached some 62.49 million tonnes during the January to June up by 10%YoY.
Iron ore imported from South Africa jumped by 160%YoY to 4.2 million tonnes in June. From January to June iron ore imported from South Africa totaled some 16.6 million tonnes up by 98.6%YoY.
Besides, China's iron ore imported from Ukraine rocketed by 190.9%YoY to some 1.52 million tonnes in June driving the total import volume up by 98% to some 5.61 million tonnes.
