Kalinga Times reported that National Aluminium Company Limited a Navratna PSU and India's leading manufacturer exporter of alumina and aluminium has bagged the Engineering Export Promotion Council's prestigious All India Export Award being adjudged as the Star Performer in large enterprise category for its outstanding export performance during the year 2007 and 2008.
On behalf of the company, Mr Ansuman Das GM of NALCO received the award from Mr Anand Sharma union minister of commerce & industry of India at a function held in Mumbai on August 29th 2009.
During the financial year 2007 and 2008, NALCO has achieved sales turnover of INR 5474 crore including the export earning of INR 2235 crore. The net profit was INR 1632 crore during this fiscal.
It may be mentioned here that NALCO enjoys Super Star Trading House status and it is the first Indian aluminium company to be registered with London Metal Exchange for its high quality products.
