Indonesian coal exports in H1 total 141 million tonnes |
Indonesia, the largest coal exporter in the world, exported a total of 141 million tonnes of coal in the first half of this year, on the back of global economic recovery.
Data show that coal exports of Indonesia reached 24.49 million tonnes in Jun, rising 32.23% from 18.52 million in May. Coal exports from China, the No.1 coal importer of Indonesia since last year, totaled 5.47 million tonnes in June, an increase of 19.66% from a month ago.
And that from India, the second largest coal importer, hit 4.71 million tonnes in June, soaring 46.64% from 3.21 million of the previous month. The country also exported coal to other Asia-Pacific countries and regions including South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, totaling 3.42 million tonnes, 3.07 million tonnes and 1.79 million tonnes in June separately.
