New Delhi, Oct 23 (PTI) Indian leather exporters need to become more competitive and follow good business ethics to increase their share in the global market, especially in the US, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Tejendra Khanna said today.
According to a statement, while inaugurating the Delhi International Leather Fair, he said the leather industry has witnessed a substantial growth in recent years and is gaining importance as a global player for finished quality leather products.
The US and Europe account for about 70 per cent of the country's leather exports.
In the three-day event organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation, over 100 leading companies from India and abroad are displaying a wide-range of products and services including finished leather, shoes and sandals, leather goods and garments and consultancy services.
