Indian auto, motor bike exporters post new record in May |

Auto exports from India touched a record 179,130 units last month, the highest ever achieved in the month of May, on the back of two-wheeler makers BAJAJ AUTO (BSE:532977) and TVS MOTOR CO (BSE:532343) posting impressive overseas sales. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), auto exports from the country stood at 179,130 vehicles in May compared to 119,749 units in the same month last year, up 49.59 per cent.
* "The total overseas sales for all categories in last month were the best ever for the month of May," SIAM Director General Vishnu Mathur said.
* While the motorcycle segment was the largest contributor last month with 116,832 units, passenger car export during the month stood at 32,649 units.
