India’s oil imports rose in February:report |
India’s crude oil imports increased for the second straight month in February, as local refiners started plants that were shut for maintenance, according to a report.
The report stated that Crude oil purchases from overseas increased 13.2% to 10.7 million metric tons from a year earlier, report adds.
The report stated that Bharat Petroleum Corp started a diesel hydro desulfurization unit at its 12 million ton-a-year plant on Jan 15, while Indian Oil Corp increased capacity of its plant at Haldia in West Bengal state by 25 percent in January after resuming production at a crude distillation unit. Fuel sales in India declined 0.2% to 11.4 mn tons from a year earlier, report adds.
