India's growth of exports for January is estimated to have grown by 8%, report media, quoting Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar on the sidelines of an Assocham function at New Delhi on Monday.
He said that India's exports grew for the third successive month, reversing contraction for 13 months. It could be $14 billion, he added. India's exports in January 2009 were less than $13 billion due to the impact of global meltdown that began pressurizing it after October 2008.
Khullar hinted that as more exports were made, the industry should get ready for a partial withdrawal of fiscal stimuli.
Commerce Minister Anand Sharma also said that sectors that had recovered should expect the withdrawal of stimuli.
