MUMBAI, March 20 (Reuters) - The growth of India's exports of agricultural and processed food products is seen slowing to 20 percent in 2008/09, from 46 percent last year, due to the global downturn, a director of a government body said on Friday.
The total exports for agricultural and processed foods stood at 360 billion rupees for the year to March 2008, said S. Dave, director at Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.
"The country was seeing an annual growth in the range of 36-50 percent over the past few years. That will now slow down to 20 percent," Dave told reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference.
India exports about 25 percent of its food products to developed countries, including U.S. and U.K, he added.
