South African traders to exhibit in India - Thirty three South African arts and craft traders will showcase their products to the international market when they participate in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi, India, 14-27 November.
The group’s participation in the internationally-acclaimed exhibition has been made possible by the South African Department of Trade and Industry through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA).
The scheme is aimed at developing export markets for South African products and services, and recruiting new foreign direct investment into the country, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement obtained by PANA here Tuesday.
South Africa's Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Elizabeth Thabethe is accompanying the traders to India.
She will attend only the first week of the exhibition before proceeding to Turkey on an outward selling mission.
PANA reports that the IITF is one of the largest integrated trade fairs, in terms of exhibitor and visitor participation targeting both trade visitors and the general public.
It offers participants from different segments of the industry adequate visibility for their products and services.
Products being displayed range from leather, textiles and handicrafts to jewellery furniture and furnishings.
More than 7 000 exhibitors from all over the world will be participating in the fair.
